What are G/A (General Avarage) ?

The problem is what influence the shipper or cargo owners has
when G/A is declared.
When the ship falls into a very dangerous situation because of a fire and running
a ground, and etc. , The freight is similarly jeopardized.
When the ship is rescued after G/A is declared and the freight is unloaded safely,
the shippers causes the obligation to pay the contribution.
Some documents are requested to the shipper by the shipping company including
the document that promises the contribution of the insurance company to be paid.
If the freight has joined a usual cargo insurance, the insurance company issues the
written guarantee of payment at once.
As a result, the freight can be easily received by cargo owners.
When it is no insurance for the freight.
It should be required that the document of the payment guarantee letter that
bank issues or ｔhe substitution.
There is fear that the negotiation with the shipping company until receiving
of the freight is prolonged.
"General average adjustor" is nominated, and the calculation and the liquidation
of each amount of the contribution are performed.
There are even end requiring several years.
